Days Orientation of New Hires/Trainees
4th revision 5/10/2019
What: This is the amended syllabus for the orientation of new hires and trainees
All staff including the officers must undergo and pass this orientation.
Passing this orientations is a requirement for:
1. Grant of allowances
2. Promotion and salary increases
N. B. We will be almost done with the Job Responsibilities JOBS tasks for SBU, After training the trainors, the orientation can be
decentralized and done at the sbus or at regional sites (hotels etc)
Goals:
1. To promote unity, discipline, passion among the trainees
2. To lessen turn over, cases of insubordination and other misconduct
in the organization
3. To develop staff who will be professional, productive, personally improving, aware of the processes, and are aware of business practices/principles
4. To promote efficiency and effectiveness among staff
Reality:
1. Frequent cases of miscommunication, lack of miscommunication, distortion
of communication (dagdag bawas) and chismis
2. Frequent alibis inaction, insubordination among new staff: non posting at blog
non answering of emails, texts
3. While we say our human resource are our greatest resources: many lack the discipline the determination and dedication to work with us as a team and hence become expenses and deadweight to the organization. Lack of proper training and orientation.
4. Many when asked about learnings in supposedly taken in this orientation deny having encountered such concepts/ideas that they signed/acknolwedged as having been taken up during orientation
Hence this revision of syllabus for orientation
Instructions:
1. Each trainee is given a copy of this syllabus either in soft or hard copy form. This is the guideline for the orientation. The trainee acknowledges each topic as having been taken up as they happen. This document is the basis for the issuance of Certificate of Training which is the basis for future salary increases
2. The trainees are given achievement exams/and exercises each day or periodically. Passing grade is 75%. The trainee MUST FINISH THE EXAMS AND SUBMIT THE REQUIRED OUTPUTS ON TIME. The delayed and non submission shall be a ground for the termination of the orientation and discontinuance of the proposed employment
3. No late or absence. Just one event is a cause of stoppage from further attendance in this orientation
4. Proper decorum: attire, behavior: courtesy and respect, focus, obedience.
Again as in 2 and 3, insubordination and disrespect can be a ground for dismissal from this training
5 The participants in this orientation are deemed to have submitted prior to this
orientation date start their requirements: transcript, health certificate that they
are fit to work, certificates of employment from previous employer, references,
and Background Investigation. No Trainee shall be allowed to start orientation whose requirements are incomplete.
As a final precondition, no one shall be allowed to start the employment until
such employee has been issued certificate of training, (passed this training)
submitted all the requirements. Officers are not exempt from this training
6. Expenses and training allowance
1. Training allowance of P200.00/per day for rank and file and P300.00 for officers shall be granted to the participant
upon being evaluated to be at the next salary level R2
2. The company shoulders the board and lodging of the participant during the
6 days orientation
3. The company reimburses the transportation expenses incurred upon
completion of the training, and start of employment with the company.
7. Training assessment:
1. The trainee must participate in all the activities and submit required out
puts
2. The passing grade is 75%. The trainee either parts out or repeats
if he/she does not pass
3. No copying during exams nor plagiarism shall be allowed, nor submission of previous work eg. video posted at FB
to be the tribute. Copying is a ground for dismissal

Day 1 Welcome, company history and products: tour of cemetery
and HAMP PM
2. Personal Mastery: attitude, discipline, CCD the secret, positive
mental attitude, leadership, words to avoid, time management
habits of successful person, secrets of success

3. Professionalism: office etiquette, execution, communication
organizational chart, matrix management, making memos
FAR, phone ethics, answering text emails, writing memos,
observation of Acctg Treasury work
4. Productivity and Profitability: Efficiency, effectiveness,
Using an organizer, work, work scheduling, management,
sales - cost = gp, 5s, quality, TPM, (cost/expense reduction)
Teamwork and communication
5. Process- Process flow, MC Admin Plans (Responsibilities, Tasks,
Outputs, Standards) Use of portals, abstracts
6. Problems solving: KT CE (Ishikawa method) Statistical Control, Pareto
7 Working on projects, presentation Graduation, panunumpa
Detailed syllabus: contains: Trainor objectives, activities, resources learning assessment: (activities or exams)
Day 1: Assembly and introduction.
The trainees must come on or before 7:30. in proper office attire. (They should have been billeted the day before) The 3f staff must likewise come early before 730 to set good examples Their arrival must be coordinated 1 day before.
Their whereabouts are monitored prior to arrival at JM The trainees must be welcomed and given temporary id and/or name tag.
Breakfast 7:30 to 800 (company supplied) (we resume breakfast since allowance will no longer be given asap)
Start 8:00 am
1. Prayer (Josh Groban or Celine Dion)
2. Pambansang Awit ng Pilipinas
3. Self Introduction 8:00 to 9:00 and other teambuilding activities
3.1. Getting to know you.. Duration (about 3 minutes each)
Purpose: to get acquainted with other trainees, to sharpen memories
Mention your name status, address, what you took up, former job
your five year plan, and expectations from the training.
The next one mentions the name of the previous speaker and then
mentions the above about himself/herself and the cycle completed (ie
all the names of all trainees are mention and recalled by everyone
3.2 Truths and a lie Duration about 3 minutes each
To train our staff on discernment and to emphasize the value of honesty among this batch
1. All members write 3 truths and a lie about them on a piece of paper. No one among the trainees know
about this
2. The list is submitted to the trainor.
3. The trainees take turn in announcing his 3 truths and one lie and must recite them as if they are all true.
4. The rest of the class guess what is the lie. They must use strategies to guess the correct lie...(maybe we give
a price to those who can guess
5. The trainor who has the list of the truth and lie can rule who won (Prize for winner?
3.3. Good and bad. Duration about 15 minutes
To train staff to see good things in all problem and develop emotional intelligence
1. The trainees when they are plenty can be paired with one another...
2. The story teller belts out his bad experience: his sorrows, hurt and bad feeling
3. The other trainee notes the positive thing that must come out from the bad experience, or lessons learned.
3.4 Last 30 seconds Estimated duration 15 minutes
To practice empathy among staff, and for us to value life and our experience
To practice reflection
1. Play soulful music and for the next 10 minutes ask the trainees recall remarkable life experiences
2. Set a deadline say last 30 seconds
3. The trainor says: "If you have 30 seconds to live, tell us the most remarkable unforgettable life moment
you would like other people to know. Ask him to share also the other significant life event.

3.8 Relaying interment details Duration 20 minutes
1. A message is made regarding interment and its details: name of deceased; lot owner, authroized
representative, lot block number, date and and time of interment. The names are confusing and
prone to miscommunication
2. The trainor reads the message to members of the team one by one. The members of the team are
individually called to relay the message
3. The team members are advised to strategize to relay accurately the message.
4. The last guy recites the message to the plenary.
5. The trainor recites and compare this with the original message
3.9 Communications team building: Leading blind maida Duration 30 minutes (can be done at next room)
1. Training the trainors
2. Practicing matching instructions to the job
1. A boss is sick and has to be brought wine and food; the waiters/maida though are blind
2. However, the boss and or some people can aid the waiters/maids with the job
3. There are obstacles and mines (white pieces of paper) at the site where wines, bottle opener and
glass are located
4. The boss and the other communicators from a distance will direct the maida away from obstacles and
where the glasses, wine and wine opener are.
5. The waiters maida must serve the master, serve him drink (blind folded pa rin) and he must not use his
hand to get the drink
