I went with my entire family to Oton last Aug 26-29. The flight condition foretold what was going to happen. It would be bad weather and rain. Anyway, there was typhoon Nina at northern Luzon last Friday.
FLOOD IN OTON (the first two pictures are at the site)
Floodwaters were up at the highway. Our memorial park was flooded until the gutter near the warehouse area. The house of former mayor's yard was submerged in maybe waist deep water. The municipal hall church area was flooded.
Allan's restaurant area was flooded. They said that this is the second time it flooded at Oton. And at the time of our visit.
ANGRY SKIES AND SEAS
The storm surge and the floodwaters from the mountains met and caused the flood. Samson's, Gary's, and Aprilyn's place were flooded. Areas of Oton were still underwater as of Sunday.
