How do you become better? How do you become a truly great professional

PAGSASANAY SA TAGUMPAY

Are you one?  Are you intending to be the best that you can be?

10 Characteristics of Professionalism

by Chris Joseph; Updated June 27, 2018
Being a professional in your chosen field means much more than wearing a coat and tie or possessing a college degree and a noted title. Professionalism also has to do with how you conduct yourself during your business affairs. True professionals possess a number of important characteristics that can apply to virtually any type of business.

Appearance

A professional is neat in appearance. Be sure to meet or even exceed the requirements of your company's dress code, and pay special attention to your appearance when meeting with prospects or clients.

Demeanor

Your demeanor should exude confidence but not cockiness. Be polite and well-spoken whether you're interacting with customers, superiors or co-workers. You need to keep your calm, even during tense situations.

Reliability

As a professional, you will be counted on to find a way to get the job done. Responding to people promptly and following through on promises in a timely manner is also important, as this demonstrates reliability.

Competence

Professionals strive to become experts in their field, which sets them apart from the rest of the pack. This can mean continuing your education by taking courses, attending seminars and attaining any related professional designations.

Ethics

Professionals such as doctors, lawyers and public accountants must adhere to a strict code of ethics. Even if your company or industry doesn't have a written code, you should display ethical behavior at all times.

Maintaining Your Poise

A professional must maintain his poise even when facing a difficult situation. For example, if a colleague or client treats you in a belligerent manner, you should not resort to the same type of behavior.

Phone Etiquette

Your phone etiquette is also an important component of professional behavior. This means identifying yourself by your full name, company and title when you place a call. Be sure not to dominate the conversation and listen intently to the other party.

Written Correspondence

During written correspondence, keep your letters brief and to the point. Your tone should be polite and formal without being "stuffy." This also applies to email correspondence.

Organizational Skills

A professional can quickly and easily find what is needed. Your work area should be neat and organized, and your briefcase should contain only what is needed for your appointment or presentation.

Accountability

Professionals are accountable for their actions at all times. If you make a mistake, own up to it and try to fix it if possible. Don't try to place the blame on a colleague. If your company made the mistake, take responsibility and work to resolve the issue.

Photographer Vincent J. Musi spent more than eight years working on a photo story about the ACE Basin in his home state, South Carolina. In an effort to explain why it took so long for him to shoot a story that was so close to home, Musi retraces his steps, guided by emails from senior photo editor Elizabeth Krist. “What follows is a very one-sided account, edited for brevity and to make me look good,” he says.

Scientists have uncovered a cache of satellite images of Earth that had been forgotten in storage for nearly 50 years and that push back the first satellite images of our planet a full 17 years.

The images, when compared with recent satellite photos, show how humankind has changed the planet, from deforestation to changes in sea ice.

Every year, judges for the annual National Geographic Photo Contest scour thousands of images looking for informative and moving moments, like this intimate portrait of disabled children in Syria.

“When I look at pictures, I’m looking for a little piece of that photographer in the pictures that makes me connect to the reason that they’re showing this to me,” says Stephanie Sinclair, a National Geographic photographer and former judge. Adds photo editor Susan Welchman, “[A good photo] goes directly from my eyes to my stomach.”

Three Friends, Their Bikes, and a ‘Wonderful, Wicked Mountain’
Three Friends, Their Bikes, and a 'Wonderful, Wicked Mountain'
In the winter of 2014, Joey Schusler, Thomas Woodson, and Sam Seward set out for the Peruvian Andes in search of high alpine single-track in vast landscapes, places where bikes are not commonplace. Their goal was to circumnavigate one of the most wonderful and wicked mountain ranges in the world—Cordillera Huayhuash—by bicycle.

“There is something in every one of you that waits and listens for the sound of the genuine in yourself,” the narrator of the film begins. “It is the only true guide you’ll ever have. And if you cannot hear it, you will spend all of your days on the ends of strings that somebody else pulls.”

Greek archaeologists have discovered the image of a young, red-haired goddess being swept off to the underworld inside a 2,300-year-old tomb near the ancient site of Amphipolis in northern Greece. Identified as Persephone, daughter of Zeus, the goddess portrayed on a mosaic floor provides a key new clue to what in recent months has become a much publicized mystery: Who was laid to rest in the immense, marble-walled tomb 61 miles northeast of the Greek city of Thessaloniki?

Good/best feng shui for burial grounds on a mountain side

I seen so many rennovations on new houses in the name of feng shui. Yet the owners are down in buiness, financials. My faith tells me that the almighty up there controls all. Believing then in feng shui is an insult to God. Thank you and Godbless! HAT

Kindly leverage on the knowledge that burial grounds located on mountain side are the best according to Feng Shui practices.  No less than the customer of RCC confirmed this... She said that a customer who bought GE said they had the MP Feng Shiued and found out that the site that they bought is the best.

CAN YOU USE THIS TO SELL MORE?

The steep portion of HGGMP will be developed to conform to benchmark, and so with HAMP.  Let us?

This came from a post on holy gardens community blog...

Selecting burial grounds
Feng shui in the western world today is still very much focused on buildings for the living. It is the few rare true feng shui masters who are still trained and have the knowledge to select auspicious burial grounds. Just as you will have a feng shui master come to help you select a house, you will have one come to the cemetery to help you select an auspicious final resting place.
Similar to the house, it is vital for the burial site to be located in an ideal mountain formation. Only the expert feng shui master will be able to detect these. Once the burial site is selected, the feng shui master will be able to tell you how to lay the coffin in the ground so the deceased may rest in an auspicious direction. Finally, a funeral date is selected.
In the feng shui philosophy where everything is made of energy or chi, there is no separation between life and death. Energy is neither created nor destroyed; it only changes form and phase. Death is not the end; it is only a metamorphosis, the beginning of another life. Thus, when a loved one passes, it is important to remember their energy continues to affect us, and it is important to continue taking care of them through a positive resting place as their well-being will directly affect us even when they are no longer here.
