FOLLOW UP ON UNITY OF COMMAND

Memorandum:

TO      :  All SBUs

Through:   Chiefs

Through:    HR

November 4, 2014

This is to stress reemphasize and I hope you all FOCUS, PAY ATTENTION AND HAVE REVERENCE ON the principle of unity of COMMAND AND DIRECTION

We will have efficiency and harmony if we observe this.

People in the sbu that they will be attended to by one boss with regards to their logistical support;  however, they will follow or report to another officer for other purposes.

In the last Undas operation, there were conflicts and difficulties because some SBU were following different set of rules coming from other groups.  The directives on sales discounts and promos were made clear in a meeting made for that purpose;   written plans were made.   Conflicting reports were made to the direct reports and this office leading to confusion and misunderstanding.

While people profess loyalty, they are not and have hidden agendas - divide and rule perhaps.  These things do not go unnoticed.

Principles of Management by Henry Fayol - let us follow and observe them

(Unlike partnerships where a partner can enter into an agreement on his own, or give orders to subordinates on his own, thus 3 separate partners can issue 3 conflicting orders. Thus corporations are preferred means of running a corporation
