Discussion:
1. Communication is the key to execution. It is the key to being united and moving as one.
Blogs, emails must be promptly read and answered and bosses must make sure that we have a common understanding of terms. Staff must exert efforts to know everything that comes before them.
All posts in our community blog are notified via emails. The emails must be answered, posts must be visited. Reading the community blog is key to learning and knowledge. Knowledge is important for leadership and management.
Answering emails is a duty; and even more so with selling. If our livelihood is dependent on selling, we answer inquiries promptly. We attend to customer contact promptly.
2.
Increasing productivity.
1. Know your goals and write it down. Know what you want. Know your rewards. The key to success is knowing what you want. That is the first step.
Where are you going?
2. Write the action plan
It could be a sales plan, a marketing plan, an operation plan or administrative plan. That is why we are pestering you/all with the submission of marketing plan. That is the second step.
How do we get there?. The road map must be written down and clear
3.
Executives
Who are the executives? Are you an executive?
According to Peter Drucker, executives are knowledge workers who get things done.
Three important elements must be present:
1.
Knowledge
2.
Leadership
3.
Obedience
Knowledge is obtained through:
1. Education in colleges and universities
2. Attending seminars
3. Mentoring from an expert or consultant
4.
Researching through the internet. It has been made convenient and free for all at the community blogs. Threfore do your best to read the blog faithfully and religiously. It is free (Maybe one reason why it is not being read?)
4. Tasks:
Core (the key tasks related to the objective or purpose)
Ancillary - important knowledge that maybe or not related to the purpose, objective of the job, like CS even if you are not marketing; knowing problems in documents, interment. Routine are mostly repetitive tasks like reporting that need to be done, but is not as important as the core
5.
FAR
Focus - we discussed this at length with Brain Games ie that we have limited span of attention and that we do not have peripheral vision. Therefore, whenever we have meeting or you read texts or email. read well and carefully.
Attention - related to focus - do only one task at a time. You cant be multi tasking. Disregard other things. Devote large chunks of time to whatever you are doing.
Reverence - Show respect and etiquette. Give unto Cesar what is due Cesar. In recent meeting, the attendees were late, and one did not bother to stand and recognize the boss upon his arrival.
