Re: mindset and time management and execution - AM Talk

We talked about the following in our AM talk at 3ffb:

1.  Daily Bread  - "The mind is formed by what it takes in" by Will Durant

While the Bible says that we should be concerned with what comes out of our mouth rather than what we put in, today's Daily Bread tells us that we should be concerned by inputs to our mind, eyes, ears and even mouth.  The food we eat sticks around for a while in our body, and if we do not exercise they stay put in our hips, butts, and waist.   It takes about 1 hour exercise to remove 500 calories that represent just one pound.

Thus early in the morning, we fill our mind and soul with first ray of sunshine, great music and even  Gregorian Chants.  They are supposed to stimulate enthusiasm and great brain functioning, remove cobwebs in our mind, makes our days positive and enjoyable.

2.  Time management:  from the memo sent by this office  dated January 18, 2007

     1.   Hasten the pace

     2.    Do It Now (not later, not tomorrow)  DIN
3.  Decision making and prioritization  from the book Turbo Coach by  Brian Tracy   (AMACOM:   2005  pp 67 - 69

     1. Put more time into high value activities that are of high value, and less into low value;

     2.  Begin doing new highly productive activities and stop doing low or no value activities

    3. Put as much time into activities that are important and or urgent.

THE ABOVE ARE YOUR PRIORITIES.  HIgh value activities are those activities that create wealth and cash flow for you and your company:  thus they are revenue and cash flow making activities and therefore they involve:

    SALES
    COLLECTION
    ACTIVITIES THAT BEAUTIFY THE PARK
    GREAT CS AND CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
    COST REDUCTION
    EFFICIENCY ENHANCEMENT
       in that order.

Use the 20 - 80 rule of the Pareto Principle

    1.  Identify   the 20% of your tasks that contribute to 80% of the output or results  (the precious few)

    2.  Identify  activities that are 80% that contribute only 20% of the results (the important many)

    3.  Devote more time to the 20% that are precious few

    4.  Delegate, automate or outsource the important many.

Time Management review

BE a BIDDA: "BELIEVE, INSPIRE, DREAM, DO ACHIEVE"

Let us revisit this presentation so that we will not say that you are overcome by many tasks.  You can plan and prioritize your task.  You can only be dis organized if you can not manage yourself around time.

Ano ang goal setting/tuwid na daan?

BE a BIDDA: "BELIEVE, INSPIRE, DREAM, DO ACHIEVE"

ANO ANG TUWID NA DAAN?
. My uncle told me last Saturday this father, (our late Lelong) said that to reach your goal, the shortest distance is the straight line between point A to point B. That is what he used to tell his children (my cousin)
But he also told me and he realized, that there are rotondays (circles or byways) in that road/path.
Thus his children told him that they may have diversions, but "Dad i will make sure that I reach that goal."
Now what is tuwid na daan. That of my Lelong or that of my cousin?
Take note that to reach that goal, time is an important resource. Many of our colleagues waste their time procrastinating ie putting off things that they can do today. Sometimes, they try to save on centavos but loses thousands daily on cost of money. How sad.: lack of perception of value and the real meaning of running a business.  Do not understand HABAKUK, the quick and the dead, the importance of time and speed as a competitive advantage
Sometimes they get bad habits for lack of strict supervision or lack of training and mentoring where they used to work before. Having ore salary and working in business district does not show that they had good training.  Some of them manage to give alibis, or object, after the meeting is over and decisions are made.  How can we succeed if the byways are our people? Who needs enemies and other hindrances.

THE HEADS LEAD THE TAILS. Our actions affect others and their perception of success and leadership.
What can people learn from this post?

6 Time Management tips from Brian Tracy

BE a BIDDA: "BELIEVE, INSPIRE, DREAM, DO ACHIEVE"

These tips will help you sell more as a sales executive. Read and view this and double and even triple your sales.

Have we viewed this before;  in case we forgot, here  are the tips from Brian Tracy

This presumes you have a planner. And you have a watch or a calendar (most cellphones and android have)

1.  Prepare. This is the equivalent of planning.  Before you leave office in the afternoon, prepare what you are to do the following day. Therefore you know exactly what you are to do the following day.  And since you have written this down, you need not worry about this as you drive or commute going home.

2. Schedule your time.   Order prioritize what you are to do.  Do not let external dictate your day.  By doing this, you give yourself a greater sense of control and leadership.  And a sense of power and achievement.

3. Start early. Most successful people sleep and wake up early. By waking up early, you give enough time for yourself to prepare and think more on what you are to do. Most violate this important rule by waking up and starting late

4.  Have organizational skills :  where you place your thing and your files (even your computer file)  Are they on B D drive, C drive.  Or only at docs or desktop.   Know how to find your files and things   Invest in organizers.

5. Do things when you are most productive.  Are you an AM person or PM person. LIkewise, if  you are negotiating, try to nego when you think that the energy level of adversary is down

6. Air travel productivity:     Air travelers are 3x more productive than when they are in office Why because they are uninterrupted.  So bring enough work when you fly.  You will be glad you did/

Hi Jorge,
So many successful people struggle with procrastination.
Are you one of them?
It's understandable. If you're like many people, your to-do list is so long and overwhelming, you aren't sure where to start or how to tackle everything on it.
But the fact is, procrastination doesn't help. For one thing, you don't get done what you need to get done. Or you get done the menial, unimportant things while the big, important ones are looming over your head all day (or even all week).
Unfortunately, it's the big ones that have the most potential to affect your life – and increase your income.
So how do you STOP procrastinating so you can become more productive and make more money?
By now, you know I wouldn't write about a problem without presenting a solution.

When you learn to effectively manage your time, you stop procrastinating, start making more money, and begin to enjoy life more.
I've put together a brand-new free video just for you, called, "The ABCDE Method of Time Management."
Watch it here.
ABCDE Method Video

In it, I share a method of time management many people have said has changed their lives forever. It's based on the skill of organizing your tasks by priority so you tackle your biggest, most important tasks first.
When you get a handle on the ABCDE Method, your life WILL change – and procrastination will become a thing of the past.
In this video, you learn:
  • How to organize your entire life by using my powerful priority setting technique
  • Why you should never begin work for the day without this ONE key item in hand
  • How much time most people waste, on average, doing tasks that don't need to be done – how much time are you wasting?
  • Why you may need to reevaluate everything you're doing, if you struggle with time management
  • How to prioritize the items on your to-do list, when many of them seem very important
Ready to stop procrastinating and start living more productively? It's time.

Watch this video, for free, here.
Here's to your productivity – and the end of your procrastination, every day.

Dear Jorge,
Do you ever feel too busy; overwhelmed with everything you have to do – like there simply isn't enough time in the day?
Do you ever wonder why some people seem to get so much more done than you do? After all, everyone has the same 24 hours per day, right?
Well, not exactly. Of course, it's true that everyone has access to the same number of hours in each day. But it's how people manage that 24 hours, that varies. Successful people manage their time more effectively.
And time management is really life management – so how effective are you?
Anyone can improve their time management – and I reveal how in my brand new video, "The Psychology of Time Management."
Watch it, free, here.

If you're like many people, you may believe your life is simply too busy – not matter what, there is no room for improvement when it comes to time management. But the fact is that you CAN improve your time management, if you have enough incentive, motivation, and the right strategy.
During "The Psychology of Time Management," you learn:
  • My 7-step formula for setting and achieving your time management goals
  • Why great time management decreases stress
  • How to create more energy and more time for friends, family, relaxation and anything else you want to do
  • One thing you must do daily to reach your time management goals
  • How to take your time management goals from ideas to action, every time
  • One thing successful people have in common – and how you can get it, too
What if you could make better use of your 24 hours? What if you could find a way to get more done, in less time, so you created more free time for yourself?

Become more efficient NOW.
Great time management is almost like adding hours to your day... wouldn't that be nice?
View "The Psychology of Time Management" --and get my 7-step process for improving yours.
Here's to your increased success – through life management,

Brian Tracy
P.S. One key aspect of time management: taking action, now. Take action now and begin improving your time management by watching "The Psychology of Time Management" here. Watch it here.
