Re: mindset and time management and execution - AM Talk

We talked about the following in our AM talk at 3ffb:

1.  Daily Bread  - "The mind is formed by what it takes in" by Will Durant

While the Bible says that we should be concerned with what comes out of our mouth rather than what we put in, today's Daily Bread tells us that we should be concerned by inputs to our mind, eyes, ears and even mouth.  The food we eat sticks around for a while in our body, and if we do not exercise they stay put in our hips, butts, and waist.   It takes about 1 hour exercise to remove 500 calories that represent just one pound.

Thus early in the morning, we fill our mind and soul with first ray of sunshine, great music and even  Gregorian Chants.  They are supposed to stimulate enthusiasm and great brain functioning, remove cobwebs in our mind, makes our days positive and enjoyable.

2.  Time management:  from the memo sent by this office  dated January 18, 2007

     1.   Hasten the pace

     2.    Do It Now (not later, not tomorrow)  DIN
3.  Decision making and prioritization  from the book Turbo Coach by  Brian Tracy   (AMACOM:   2005  pp 67 - 69

     1. Put more time into high value activities that are of high value, and less into low value;

     2.  Begin doing new highly productive activities and stop doing low or no value activities

    3. Put as much time into activities that are important and or urgent.

THE ABOVE ARE YOUR PRIORITIES.  HIgh value activities are those activities that create wealth and cash flow for you and your company:  thus they are revenue and cash flow making activities and therefore they involve:

    SALES
    COLLECTION
    ACTIVITIES THAT BEAUTIFY THE PARK
    GREAT CS AND CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
    COST REDUCTION
    EFFICIENCY ENHANCEMENT
       in that order.

Use the 20 - 80 rule of the Pareto Principle

    1.  Identify   the 20% of your tasks that contribute to 80% of the output or results  (the precious few)

    2.  Identify  activities that are 80% that contribute only 20% of the results (the important many)

    3.  Devote more time to the 20% that are precious few

    4.  Delegate, automate or outsource the important many.

"We are what we repeatedly do.  Excellence then is not an act by a habit by Aristotle."

  1. Let us feed our mind with a positive things. It will help us to motivate doing the right things. In our tasks and responsibilities, we must have to prioritize the activities with a high value, learn new things and put as much time in the activities which is important/urgent.

  2. We must feed our minds with the positive thoughts. What we see, what we think and what we think that's the result.
We must know how to manage our time to avoid delays and to finish our job on time.

  3. What we can see stay in our minds for a long time so that we need to see those good&right things for us to remember what we should do right. We should focus in the precious few which is 20% and can contribute 80% of our work, we need to be productive day by day.
