What is your passion? Do you have one?

PAGSASANAY SA TAGUMPAY

"Nothing great in the world has ever been accomplished without passion." - Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel #DailyDose

Passion is very important in all our undertaking, HR concerns

1.  In the presentation by Chit Juan for Figaro, she quoted George Hegel that nothing in this world gets done without Passion

2.   MVP, of Pacific group emphasized the importance of PIC in selecting staff:

                            Passion
                            Integrity
                            Competence

From Self Dev by Prof Jorge

PIC from Manny Pangilinan at Philstar

Old school HR emphasized only skills, abilities knowledge, IQ.  But now we have EQ (Emotional
Quotient)  Emotional Intelligence, ie, the ability of a person to motivate himself and others

We thus must look for applicants who have passion:  zest for work, zest for living, and zest for interest outside their work, that they are willing to devote time and effort even without money consideration.  (If we just work for money, then we are all like "prosti"   as Julia Roberts say in Pretty Woman that its shameful to do wonderful things to others just because we are paid....Aray..)

I found out this passion for work, that I worked like mad to complete a project ie repainting run down
Bianchi bike, sold by someone who raced for Bianchi 7-11 team, and found out that the bike frame I bought for almost a song, is actually a gem.

I had it repainted, put some stickers, bought a new lighter wheel set. Except for the paint job and the sticker job, I did many things with my own hands:   disassembly, assembly and removing the bugs.

Three things bothered me in the reassembly:    the bottom bracket reinstallation (the paint job that spilled on the thread made reinstallation extremely difficult, the seat post got stuck (it wont go down, again due to lousy paint job) and the headset  (kumakalog then later found out that the bearings conked out)

I was involved in many large 7 to 8 numbers project, but nothing gave me more excitement and thrill
of achievement than this Bianchi Freccia Celeste project

Am extremely proud of this achievement

Now with very light, 1435 grams Novatec Jetfly wheels

Needed lighter aero drop bar brakes are now
                                                                    super light SRAM red

New Ragusa headset, the maxzone went kaput

The stickermania girl at SM copied the sticker word for word

Carbon fiber light crank 53 39

Ultegra derailleur, Shimano 11 32 cogs 10 spd

Main Value Proposition for Chapel Memorial Service

BE a BIDDA: "BELIEVE, INSPIRE, DREAM, DO ACHIEVE"

What will the buyer of a chapel (funeral) memorial service value in the package he buys?   The casket, or  more.

What do we sell?

We sell memorialization:  that the loved one be remembered in a special way in a special way (our main mission statement for Holy Gardens memorial park.

How is it shown at CMS?

1. Casket, price and quality (the casket counts but not all.  Some funeral homes sell cheap caskets but can command premium price

2.  Plus:

     1.  Flowers and garden themes

The number one want of customers of the bereaved is the judicious use of flowers.  They will pay premium price for quality and beautiful flowers.   Flowers is the best way to show love and devotion to the deceased loved ones.   That is why this post took extra efforts to show special flower arrangements.

    2.  Extras and other amenities:

       From Holy Gardens Community

Default features:

1   14 days embalming

2.  25 km free pick up, beyond + P5,000; up to 50 km P10,00 per km for low end;  P15,00 for high end

3.  7 nights 8 days home viewing;   3 nights and 4 days for chapel use;  beyond 3 nights,   2,000 per night for non aircon and 3,000 for aircon rooms of 50 sm or less

4.  Two tarps   - announcement and appreciation

5.  36 pp tributes

6.  free obits

7.  memory board

8.  Memory display

9.  Eburol  (free wifi)

10.  E libing

11.  Candles

What is the main value proposition for Holy Gardens? To remember our loved ones in a special place....

BE a BIDDA: "BELIEVE, INSPIRE, DREAM, DO ACHIEVE"

Philippines,
May 28, 2016

We need to beautify our park in addition to our construction, because that is part of our mission.

In the ordinary marketing parlance, the concern of marketing is availability, ie that park:

   1.  has been developed
   2.  that it is beautiful
   3.  and well maintained.

However, some memorial park do not level up to these standards:  as in a mp in the south:

Let us demand responsibility and please pay only upon submission of pictures.

This is a sight  in MP  that will send your bp rising:

     1.   Entrance is full of trash and tall grasses;

     2.  Trash every where.

     3.  Vault being manufactured on the street;

     4.   Inoperable trailers, dirty and  in disarray;

     5.  Mounds of earth (dumping of soil from excavation

     6.  Cogon in between landscaping

     7.  Grasses growing on cracks joints of the street;

     8.  Very tall grasses (either the Batanes or Napier type) 2 to 3 meters in places.

     GRABE/

Magdagdag ng tao GC, GT.  Matagal nang sinasabi ito.

Availability is always important in marketing:   construction must be completed and the park must be beautiful. We had a conference on park beautification to launch a contest.   Calapan has not resubmitted ppt on park beautification.  Please resubmit. Despite this this is what we saw last Thursday.  How sad.

Calapan has not, despite the availability of resources to comply with this, hence the pitiful low and 0 sales.

LET US MOVE AND ACHIEVE THINGS.  Do it now.

Action begets action.

My own take on first half (H1) Performance

Goal:   To achieve sales of P50+ million in sales for H2

Reality:   Sales Performance of 30%+

This is worse than 2013 when we achieved 50+.  I would say that was our banner year.  We did 200 plots  in June 2013

What are my and your alibis?

We supported the H2 with new products and other financial support. However the following were not forthcoming or non existent:

1.  Lack of staff:

At Panga, Calapan, Oton and La Union. 3ffb

FAQ for MVP

Memorandum:     To  All

Subject :    Possible FAQ for MVP

Objectives:

1.  To sell additional P20 million for 2014

2.  To facilitate ABE to customers and employees

Internal:

1. Q Why are we having MVP?

    A.  Many companies are on value package bundling mode.  They can sell more if they bundle:

    Examples:

   1.  Telcos:   the plans are bundled with expensive handsets that could be amortized together with the plan, or separate monthly.  The smartphone is the magnet

   2.  San Mig coffee salo-salo.  It is priced at P10.00 only good for 4 servings.  Compare that with Nescafe P6.00 for one serving.  Who is going to be the winner

   3.  Selecta 3 in 1

   4.  3 in 1 coffee.  Coffee, cream, sugar bought separately cost more vs 3 in 1.  We have 5 in l coffee with Jim.

   5.  Supermarkets/FMCG regularly do bundling of their bestsellers with slow products.

   6.   McDo, Jollibee, KFC best sellers are bundled.

BUNDLES/COMBOS ARE CHEAPER AND EASIER TO ORDER.

Customers end up buying more rather than basic products.

2.  Is it not difficult to market, understand?

At the beginning, as we try to understand, maybe yes.  But if we code with package A, B, with pictures or summary, then it becomes easy

3.  How about procedures:

Setting up the accounts, ledgers maybe a problem in the beginning, but we are setting up the accounting, receiving process and documentation to take charge of this difficulty

4.  Paano treatment ng accounting sa mga prepaid:

    1.  Liability

For the CMOs:

All the parts of the bundling:   interment, FS, CU are part of the incentivable via ORC.  Although they are not commissionable.

For the agents:

They are subject to the point system:    1 point for every P1,000.00 There are prizes that can be exchanged for points.

5.  How do we communicate this to the SBUs:

    1.  Via the blogs

    2.  Emails

    3.  Telecon

    4.  Face to face sales meetings

    5.  Feedback (exams)

6.  How do we communicate this to the customer:

    1.  Email marketing

    2.  Tarps (for headlines)

    3.  Menu board (as in Jollibee, McDo)

    4.  Leaflets

For the customer FAQ:

1.  Ano yan bakit may combo?

2. Paano documentation?

     Isang documento lang ang kailangan.

PPA for the lot, and TC for the services that contains product brief and description?

3.  Paano DP at others?

    1.  Ang DP ay kasama lahat;  kung may libreng CAF ito ay base sa balanse ng lahat.

    2.  Ang amortization ay 12 for l year, l3% for 2 years, 14% for 3years, and 15% for 4 years (max)

4.  Paano ledgering:

    1.  Separate ledger per product/service

5.  Paano pagreresibo:

    1.  Breakdown per product.

KAILANGAN ANG MASUSING MGA PALIWANAG AT PAGSASANAY PARA DITO.

6.  Puwede bang kung mag arrears, i apply ang hulog sa ibang bundled service to the main lot?

Opo, subalit mawawala ang special offer price?

7.  Paano kung mag arrears?

    (1.  I apply ang regular rules on arrears?)

   (2.  Mawawala ang special offer?)

8.  Ito ba ay transferable;  assignable?

Opo ang entire package.  Ang individual products and service ay non assignable transfereable.

9.  Paano ang mangyayari kung tumaas mga presyo

HGMP will honor the same price 5 years from purchase if services price increase.

10. Documentation:

     1.  Regular PPA, DOS and CO

The service bundle shall be annotated:

Price of the add on the monthly at bottom, away from the lot price

Annotation of the bundle at the back of the CO and issuance of TC upon full payment.  TC contain the price, benefits and product description.

For comments/additions/subtractions etc.

Is MVP the right name?

How about Memorial Options?

Bereavement Options?

More explanation on Value Packages (Holy Gardens Memorial Value Packages)

TO       :   Cynthia
                 Marketing Coordinator

Subject:   More Explanation on Value Packages

Background:

We recently read on some post that those buyers who initially went out to buy a cheap product eventually bought up more higher priced package/bundle which are cheaper after doing the math, if they bought the product separately.

Thus family size softdrinks are cheaper compared to solo, the breakfast combo are cheaper than those that are bought alone.  The cellphone company thus offers bundling even in the load:    30 minutes free call, 100 free text, and 1 hour internet, all for P30.00 vs. the P10.00 load.

Since we are not offering any discount promos for 2014, we shall push the bundling which we hope can deliver as much as 50% of the total additional sales.

Goals:   1. To achieve P20 million additional sales
and P3 million additional cash flow

              2.  To gain bigger control of memorial service market

On zero sales performance of Oton and La Union on Valentine's day

TO         :  VT
                 AC

Thru       :  MC/Brenn

I could not hide my disappointment when I was given the following explanation yesterday for 0 performance of Oton and La Union;  La Union continues to irritate me with its mystery texter.

Oton:    MV is offering a low DP of only _______ for its MP

LUMP:  FL is offering O interest and O DP

Here are y comments which I discussed on the phone"

l  Pricing is not our main value proposition:   uniqueness and great interment experience are.

2.  If they believe in this, they were the ones who were convinced;  the competitors closed and convinced our staff - how sad and pitiful!

3.  The alibis reflected lack of faith in the company, our products, and in the ability of the staff.  Can we have our staff whom we support with their daily bread be faithful and loyal to us?

4.  We are investing heavily in both parks:   HGLUMP chapel completion<running into millions> and HGOMP backfilling (running into millions too>

5.  We cant allow the competitors to dictate, control our destiny;   we seize the day and face competition with courage...We fight and defeat them

6.  When customers object, you must know how to neutralize and leverage the objection to their advantage:

How do you neutralize the FL located in San Juan, some 20 km away, and subject to frequent landslides.

How about the Iloilo MV company that is preselling?  Ours is existing and can serve the public.

(Assignment to HGLUMP and HGOMP  Let your css submit a written memo on how to neutralize the MVP of the competition.

SUBJECT:    DEFINING THE MVP FOR THE MEMORIAL PARK

1.  At our meeting yesterday at HGLUMP, we went through the clarification of the USP of LUMP, namely, unequalled interment service.

Therefore, we should pound on this as we sell, communicate to our suspects. agents, and other sales force, partners

YOU HAVE TO CRAFT VARIOUS COMMUNICATIONS:  TRI MEDIA HOW TO REACH THE INTENDED MARKET.  PLEASE SHOW ME

We should always mind the critical things to interment:

    l.  Appearance of ISG, CSS,

    2.  The equipment:   tent, CJ, all the other equipment, lowering device.

    3.  Food

    4.  Ceremonies.

2.  Our MVP for the lot:

We are searching for words to define our MVP for the memorial park.

I tried to make one:    " TO DEVELOP A PLACE FOR DESTINATION AND GATHERING OF LOVED ONES AND FRIENDS OF PEOPLE WHO WANT TO BE REMEMBERED IN A GRAND WAY"

As we write the business model canvass:

A.     On the demand side:

l.  PTM:      upper C, lower B, those who have done so much in life

2.  Customer link:     sales force agent, CSS, textblast, email, social media

3.  CUSTOMER BOND:   TOP 25, excellent interment, birthday greetings, posting at the interment board (fix the one at LUMP) l23 greetings, events

4.  Revenue:   interment, upgrades, (more products:   crematorium, ash crypts)

B.  On the supply side:

l.  Partners:   Majorem Morong Lands suppliers

2.  Key Resources:    , memorial park, internet,  interment equipment (to be most modern)

3.  Key activites:     development, landscaping, ground maintenance, TPM, 5s, blogging

Costs:   development costs, maintenance, marketing expense, interment expense (needs to be controlled

ACTION DELIVERABLES REQUIRED:

1.PLEASE DETAIL THESE OUT, WORKSHOP the sbu so that they will understand.  Please submit by Monday next week?

2.  Please detail the communication plan (or include in the uncompleted tarps (big billboards) maihahabol pa ba?
Due by Friday by next week.

        l.  What are the messages?

Some Comments on our Performance

Constant & close communication. 5 disciplines: mental models, personal mastery, systemic thinking, shared vision, team learning

l.   Delayed markers and tall grasses at HGGMP difficulty in implementing communicating and understnding are now wrecking destruction in the HGGMP sales and collection.   We could have gotten more obedience, faster execution from the HGGMP staff.  An enlightened and dedicated leadership was also wanting. The DELAYED MARKER IS A DISCONNECT TO OUR MVP

2.  The sales performance in the first l0 days looked like a poultry house.  How I wish our marketing were more focussed and conscientious to prevent our conversion to a poultry house.  With hard work, increased product knowledge and enthusiasm, we are not goint to be a chicken house.  Our business is that of memorial park

3.  Steve Jobs told:   Do what you love and love what you do.  Our business is about loving and caring for the dead.  How come we do not even sympathize/comment on our own dead a the SBU.  It is no wonder that we are not selling as we should.  We cant sympathize nor love the people who die in our own respective towns.  Even Confucius say you must love the source of your livelihood;  if need be to kiss it everyday.

Do we love what we do?  When can we empathize with the dead we have at the SBU at griefshare? Or you dead list for FOFF

. Are we close? Strictly acknowledge reading and understanding by promptly making a comment..comply.
