Discussion with Former Country President of a Multinational Non Life Insurance Company

We had an early meeting with former classmate who was:

1.  Brand Manager of P &G

2.  Brand Manager of Colgate Philippines

3.  J & J Malaysia

4.  Marketing Director of Mead Johnson Bristol Myers

5.  Country President of CIGNA

6.  Marketing VP and  EVP of a media company

I brought along our sales and marketing coordinator so that she will get to know the person in case we take him in as director, or an operating officer.

Some of the insights:

1.  His former bosses were great in motivation that if if you did not think or do your best in your work, he will make you feel so small;

2.  He does not, as well as P &G believe in grad schools, their daily grind, and solutions to their marketing problems is their school, and they have much much more case studies than all graduate schools beginning with their SBUs group, and world wide operations

3. Invest in and trust your people;  that is the only way to grow.

4.  You may not have vision and mission and statement but you must have core values when you run your business:   as integrity,  knowledge, honesty, desire for hard work.  That will set you aside from others

5.  For Holy Gardens group, and Destiny Financials, they are intertwined.  the strength of Destiny will depend on the strength of Holy Gardens. Thus a management audit of Holy Gardens is in order:

     management

     leadership

     market, customer, product segments and performance

     key processes

6.  For financial products, image is everything:  Has Holy Gardens done everything to have a good image:

     1.  Office

     2.  Uniform

     Thus moving away from Makati is a non issue.  Being in Makati Taguig CBD is everything

7.  Regarding his compensation:

    1.  Per diem

    2.  Signing consideration

    3. Monthly salary or engagement, management fee

   4.  Stocks

(we may not be able to afford this)

8.  It is important for JI (he and JI are both from Juan Luna Tondo)
to believe in herself, have a great command of oneself and confidence.

    Thus in all his training; he has a candlelight ceremonies:

   "  I will pledge and commit to be an achiever and accomplish something for the day, and at the end of the day review if such has been achieved

     I and my co workers will support one another, work as a team and avoid activities inimical to the team.  We expect ourselves to be the best, to be confident of our individual and team capabilities.  

    Nothing should be less than the best for all our achievement"
