Prepaid interment services, prepaid memorial services, cremation are services. This office has been working hard to reach our vision by engaging in these type of services.
Why the shift?
1. Our inventories of the traditional products are now low. In five to ten years time, we would have nothing to sell, no revenues, no cash flow, no money to pay salaries. It is time we prepare for the rainy day.
We cant expand nor open new ones because of the moratorium on land conversion
2. Time and time again we emphasized that 70% of the memorial business is in caskets. So taking the size of market estimate:
500,000 deaths a year x P50,000 expenses per dead est. =
P25 billion x 70% = P17.5 billion
We can hardly make sell 500 plots x 40t for each plot = P20 million. A drop in the bucket compared to the total busiess
Those who die find their way in the catholic and municipal cemeteries and the number of body crypts is unbelievable. The funeral parlors are branching out and increasing in numbers. Memorial parks are languishing
3. Holy Gardens Angono has zero inventoriy and they make money only on ash crypts, funeral service, and cremation.
4. The fastest growing segment of the economy is no longer in manufacturing or agriculture but in services which include finance, bpo, construction, software, retai, hospitality, travel, health carel etc. The traditional sectors are being left behind
5. China and the other developing countries see future growth in services
Shouldn't we do the same?
So the next time we encourage your sbu to mind the CMS, the PMS, the crematorium, be moved.
