In order to succeed, you have to change your habits. The 21 day rule

We are all here in order to succeed. We are not gathered here to fail.

1.We have to change our habits our mindset our autopilot, to one that leads  to success
    1. punctuality
    2. self discipline
    3. grooming
    4. oral and written communication
    5.work habits ethics
    6. execution
    7. Keeping promises and many more

2. If you keep on doing old habits expecting different results, Albert Einstein says is insanity.

3. It is a challenge to change habits. They make you efficient in the tasks you are currently doing but which now are dysfunctional. In order to change life trajectory, the launching pad, the rocket must change.  In this rapidly changing world, habits must change too. But some people will kill if their habits are criticized

4. The injunction is for constant self improvement.

5. In order to change habits, follow the 21 day rule. Stick to your new routine for 21 days. Then the habit maychange

No room for complacency

One of your responsibilities is self improvement

Coach  Tab Baldwin who coached the Gilas team which swept 6-0 the Fiba series when asked what's next? 1. More improvement  - there's lot of hard work to do 2.Discipline - to train and master intricacies of the game. That's from a champion coach. No room for complacency.

On striving to be best - giving more than 100% in our job; if anything is worth doing at all it deserves your best

To:     All

Subject.  On striving to be best -  giving more than 100% in our job;   if anything is worth doing at all it deserves your best

1.   In my past employers, now a  multibillion pharma, we were always enjoined by our supervisors to give more than 100% in our effort.  Being that should we we fail to meet the 100% we still have a decent achievement

2.  Aim high in your goal and planning.  Aim 200%   If you falter  you may still
     hit 100%.  If you hit 100% that is success for you, if not you are a failure

3.  When you aim high you lose nothing, Dream big  -  it is cheap

4.  In Motorsport cars or motorcycle are fun at 150% and is wrecked at the end of the race, or fail to finish at all with blown engine because they are run at 150% plus;   those who merely run at 100% are back markers -  KULELAT

5.   In track or biking events, heart rate are elevated and exceed their max level.  Say max rate is 160, they hover at 200 bpm

6.  We call the law of positive regard;  we expect that we will exceed limit and come out on top daily

7   This is similar to "How to be a no limit person"   Boiling water boils at 100 degrees Centigrade. But add additional heat just 1 degree and you have steam . Steam can propel a 40 ton fighter jet from 0 to 160 mph in just 3 seconds
because of that extra 1% increase in temperature

8.  If you are a minimalist, all that is needed to be extraordinary is just that something extra.  It may not be much but do something extra

     Remember the Roman practice of having civilians walk the extra mile.
     Can you walk the extra mile.   Going the extra mile for the customer

HEALTH IS WEALTH STAYING HEALTHY AND WITHIN IBW

To     :   All

Subject:   HEALTH IS WEALTH STAYING HEALTHY

1. Background:

    1.  This office learned of two cases of HBP  one at 3f and the other at the SBU

    Why is there HBP?

      1.  Lot of fatty food has been eaten;
      2.  The subjects have exceeded the IBW; probably are not following
            injunction to PE every Saturday (and or light calisthenics every d
      3.   Too much sitting at the office 8 hours at stretch is dangerous:  our
           internal organs are compressed downward; and circulation is poor
          because the veins are blocked while sitting down, and we might
         even emboli

     4.  The  heat is too much about 40 to 50 and may induce heat stroke

    2.  What can be done?

        1.  Avoid walking without protection
        2.  For GT work early and late in the afternoon
        3.  Wear hats and use umbrellas, and long sleeves
        4.  Drink plenty of water
        5.  Stay in AC rooms if you HBP now  consult an MD now and take
             the prescribed medicine

       6.  Our RX:

            1. Healthy diet
            2.  Exercise on your own
                   with us at office daily (light calisthenics and group exercise on Satur
                    day
           3.  Strive to be at ibw weight
           4.  Have plenty of rest.

            If you disregard this, the MDs and hospital become wealthy due to
            to huge medical biillsl

Business bits - Value Adding, NVA activities MUDA TIMWOOD

To:      All

Subject :  Value Adding Actitivies;  NVA, MUDA TIMWOOD

1  Many have heard about value added tax.  It is now at 12% (in lieu of the sales
    tax)   What is it?

2.  It is an activity that adds value to a raw material. It is a process.  It converts
     ordinary water to mineral or distilled water;   converts palay from palay to rice
     uncooked rice to cooked rice.  Correspondingly at each step of the way, price
     goes up.

               Say 1 kg of palay     -      P5.00 kg
                       l kg of milled rice     P35.000
                       1 cup of rice              P10.00 maybe you have 10 cups/kg.

3.  This is what you call the value stream.  And businessmen can enter into
      any one of them depending on his resources and skills;

4.  There is no such thing as break even or same price of input and output
      at the minimum BIR asks for takex as 2% CGT if you experience losses on
      the first two years.    You pay the wages the rent, the transport, cost of               selling..  Thus you can not buy ball pen for two pesos and sell this for two
     pesos also

5.  Thus any staff, any process must align itself to value adding, all others,
     none value adding are wastes and must be eliminated

6.   NVA can be due to regulatory requirements -  eg filing of reports, operating
      anti pollution equipment hiring a Pollution Control Officer.  (This is supposed
      to VA for the planet -  a long term insurance for earths viability

7.   Say in fixing flat the activities that are VA are:

     1.  Removal of nuts
     2.  Raising the vehicle
     3.  Removal of the interior
     4.  Looking for the hole
     5.  Patching the hole
     6.  Reinstallation of the exterior and interior
     7.  Reattachment of the wheel lug nuts

    NON VA:

   1.   Paper works for the repair
   2.   Getting the tools
   3.   Walking to and fro the  vehicle
   4.  Smoking
   5.  Answering the CP

8.  We must make robust the process to focus work on VA or even mechanize

  1.  Buy a a hydraulic  jack
  2.  Acquire a pneumatic tool for nut removal
  3.  Acquire a pneumatic machine for for removal of tire bead from the
       the rim;
  4  Use dry patch, rapid drying glue for the patch up of the hole/puncture

   These enables:

   1.  Fast turn around of cases;
   2.  More revenues

9.  What are the activities that are neither NVA nor VA?
     They are called MUDA and have acronym of TIMWOOD

     1.  T - ransportation -   repeated handling of materials, single touch only
          Dispersed location   Thus tools must be near work place   The Central
          parts storage is obsolete.;   delivery at work station is OK

    2.  Inventories -   too much using Just In Case rather than kanfban pull syste
          Just In time (works in a clustered industrial park as Toyota or Samsung

   3.  M - otion.  Irrelevant motion after an industrial engineering study must be
        reduced or eliminated

  4.  W - aiting.   For other parts for the PO, for the signatures, for late parts
       arrival, for the late workers, reports,  etc.  Thus we emphasize punctuality

  5.  O - ver production -   Products that are left unsold consume storage space
      (a huge waste in high rent or high lot price.)  If money is borrowed it                    represents huge financial burden.  if financed by equity, this represents
      huge lost income opportunityes

  6.  Over processing  -  arises from lack of trust and unreliable staff.   If employees cant have trustworthy or reliable output, we have to double
check every thing they do.  Huge labor expenses

  7.  D -  elay  -  start, construction, purchasing of equipment and  materials
       needed.  Delay in docs    Waste represents losses

 For us to be wealthy and or have our wages paid:

1.  Focus more on value added activities especiallyy those that are high value
     addes;

2.  Eliminate TIMWOOD muda.

Its either you are with us to show your gratitude  (paying forward)
or against us (our enemies)

To :    All

Subject Value of time

Objectives:

    1.  To stop delays and dilly dallying with regards to action and decision making
    2.   To get more things done in 24 hours  (Henry Sy said that all of us are given 24 hours a day; no more or less, As to whether we get rich or poor depends on us

Background:

   1.  Our greatest resource is not money or manpower, it is TIME
   2.  Hence time is GOLD;  TIME LOST IS GONE FOREVER
   3.  Time is the fourth dimension (the three others are X Y Z )

        No less than Alexander Great said this

Hence:

  1.  Plan your day, have a work schedule
  2.  Plan not more than 5 tasks a day, be determined to complete all of them
  3.  Determine your success rate:  5/5   4/5   3/5;   Strive for 100%
  4.  Focus, avoid distractions
  5.  Determine the value of your tasks, learn to determine the value of each of your activity

      1.  Is the task going to save the company money?  Is it going to increase the revenue. ?

      If they are not,:
          1.  Dont do it now, do it later
          2.  Delegate the task or outsource this

          Many are known CMOs at that to engage in messengerial task with the MV, driver et al.   The CMOs are better off selling.   These kind of wastes
          abound all around.

       2.   Place peso (petot) value on what you do   Are you worth P100.00/hour on what you do?   If not, learn to increase that value

      3.  What are high value added activities:

             1.  Selling;
             2.  Spending time with the customer, finding out what he she need want;
             3.  Solving customer problem;
             4.  Making laying out an ad; posting this at FB

Business Bit -  Talking to the Old Self -  Continuous Self Improvement

1.   What is your greatest responsibility as a worker/organization man?

     Many answers will be given, but your greatest responsibility is self improvement.  It cant
     be implementing orders, transmittal of orders, or just leading people.  It has to start from
     within.  Leadership and management are nothing more than exhibition of self implement
     results.   Even in marketing.   People buy if you improve yourself.

2.  When you improve yourself, you improve people and environment around you.

3.  You have to better than before, than yesterday.

    Plants, animals children grow.   Have you stopped growing

4.  Self improvement is an important philosophical and theological mandate.

      God commanded us in Genesis to be in charge of his creation.  To be the Good Shephard
       But you cant do that unless you have scaled up your skills and knowledge.

       We self improve for the greater glory of God.  Ad Majorem Dei Gloria

5.  What are the areas of SI:

     1.  Physical  -  through exercise
     2.  Mental -    through learning and reading
     3.  Emotional -   dealing with hardships and challenges and being strentthened by
           the experience.

Talking to your old self.

       You can only do this if there is a continuous self improvement

        If there is continuous self improvement, there is less or no need for meetings, trainings
etc.  Things will run smoothly because the head and the staff are improving selves

Business Bits - GRATITUDE FOR OUR BLESSINGS

To:     All

SUBJECT:   BUSINESS BITS - GRATITUDE FOR OUR BLESSINGS

There could be no happiness unless there is a gratitude .  There is a TV religious program that promotes gratitude.

1.  What is gratitude?

      It is acceptance.  It the acknowledgement of the blessings you received and being conttented.

      Pasasalamat.   SA MGA BAGAY NA NASA IYO:   HINDI PAGNANASA SA MGA BAGAY NA WALA SA IYO.

2   How it is shown?

    1.  By thanking Lord in our prayers;
    2.  By being happy and content with the blessings
    3.  For good things and bad;  by learning from the bad things we experienced.
    4.  By offering our blessings, and pains, the past and the future
    5.  Jesus in the Last Supper, knowing that there would be somebody who will sell him out to the Jews did not mention this and instead ".broke the bread, ... gave thanks and
          said "Do this in memory of me..." He did not mention about Judas and Peter about to disown Him

3.  How it is not shown?

   1.  By being unhappy with our lot;  by desiring things we do not have;  by being covetous and envious

    2.  By questioning and even angry with God.

3.   What to do

    1.  If you thank the Lord, you will no longer covet more things  nor question Him or even make Him an ATM God
    2.  Work hard to be a blessing to others.  You ate today because you are to feed others.
    3.  Be a blessing to others;  or make yourself through which the blessing will flow;
    4.  PAY FORWARD. Thank Lord for your life and the things the blessings you have enjoyed. and pay this forward.

        That is the best way to show gratitude for your blessings.

Business bit - Small Holes Sink a ship

To:       All

Subject:   Business bit -  Small Holes sink a ship

Truly small holes sink a ship.   Holes that you do not see but are plenty, sink a ship.  Not the big ones.  Because the big ones are visible, surely many will see them
and thus prevent the ship from leaving port, or is given top priority among the work.  But the small ones are neglected:

     Related thoughts:

    1.  God is in the details;
    2.  Those who can not be trusted in small things can not be trusted in big things;
    3.   PDCA -  Check check check
    4.  Gemba kaizen -   the actual battle field in business is the sales office or the manufacturing plant.   This should be visited by the boss
          and observed carefully.  It is not enough to depend on written reports
    5.  Small losses add up, ,small cost reduction add up over the years and in the entire enterprise.  Nothing is ever to small not to deserve your attention:
    6.  Be careful of your thoughts, they become your words, your words become your action
    7.  "For want of a nail,  (horse)shoe was lost, for want of a shoe, a horse was lost, for want of a horse the soldier was lost, for want of a soldier an army
          was lost, for want of an army a kingdom was lost
    8.    In writing the presence or absence of a comma can change the thought of a sentence
    9.  Some children are born defective or have serious congenital diseases because of defective gnome sequencing of a chromoome

     Anecdotes
   1.  The Fukushima reactor had a meltdown, because a cooling pump failed to function because the battery wras grounded by the flooding; the same thing happened
         in nuclear accident in Chernobyl Russia.   A worker failed to turn on the valve for cooling after a test was conducted.  Imagine a high tech equipment failing because
         of a negligent worker, and a valve that was left open
   2.  The roro that sank of Batangas bay and somewhere in Belgium, sank because the ramp was not closed;
   3.  The JAL plane which cost Boeing nearly half a billion was caused by worker failing to install 7 rivets, just 7 rivets. He forgot about this because he had
         lunch
   4.  In my experience, there was a formwork failure and an entire batch of concrete needed to pour on a slab was wasted;  it was good nobody was hurt
         because of same negligence - the formworks carpenter failed to secure the formwork by pounding a coupe of 5 inches nail.
   5.  In the movie Crimson Tide, a nuclear world war could have started had the order to torpedo a Russian sub was carried out, despite an incomplete communication
        Denzel Washington averted this, because he had the sense to disobey Gene Hackman the captain, unless the complete message was received

    ACTION POTENTIAL:
   1.   Employ the 5H and 1W in your repertoire when making a plan of action;
   2.    Ask the question why five times;
   3.    Read the literature on the subject before proceeding;
   4.    Be meticulous before any action;  avoid shooting from the hips
   5.    Learn from your mistakes.

Courage and Determination alone are omnipotent; pitch and hustle

To:    All CMOs
         All  Css/All marketers

Thru:   Mam Madel

This discussion was in response to correct the situation where there are commitments/goals for the day;  but where achievements are still 0 at the end of the day;

What re needed are:     1.  DETERMINATION
                                      2.  PITCH AND HUSTLE

1.   Determination  -  Courage and determination alone are omnipotent -   Samuel  Coolidge fmr Pres of USA .   This was the famous line of Ray Kroc founder of
                                  MacDonald In one year, he built more than 1,000 McDonald Store through out USA.  No one can equal that number in modern times

                                 The source of that courage is the Passion - to build, the heal the world, the make this world a better place, to provide jobs

2.  Pitch   -  alok, AIDA.   get the interest of the  prospect;   catch his attention, interest, desire and action  (see what the bus vendor do in plying his trade)
                    In his eyes you are can of sardines, or kg of rice.   If the guy does not sell, he and his family does not eat

    Hustle -  what is your gimmick;  what is your ploy to get the prospect to buy

                  We listed these all ready as:

                  1.  Reciprocity -  we develop gratitude in prospect by freebies -  information as health tips, on grieving,

                  2.  Social affirmation -  others bought this all ready, his friends bought this;   over 70% of the population bought this;   actor x bought this etec

                  3.  Emotion  -  use emotions to sell.   This is good for your looks, you will atttact more suitors, this will enhance your high wealth status, this will make
                                          you look younger in one week;  this will make you younger taller for good looks to get jobs faster;   will remove you acne to gain
                                          confidence.   Your status in the community will be higher if you buy a memorial park.

                  4.   Scarcity  -   only 3 units left;   our schedule for this prospecting for this area is only for a week

Happy selling.

If we do not sell we do not eat.  If we do not eat. we die.

Plenty of Opportunities Came Today

To Madel

Subject  :   Opportunities that came today (mostly Crematorium

1.   With Surigao Memorial at Butuan City

      Previous conversation with Capt Jake Miranda, Pres of Surigao Memorial Park, said we could not go into a new corporation because of their By Laws.  They would like to only enter into technical consultancy

     I have a conversation with him at about 9:30 today and we talked about the following

       1.  He realized that they would be hard up on technical consultancy because they do not know how to run a crematorium

      2.  They are buying the property in Butuan  now;  He would go to Butuan
City tomorrow to talk to the Barangay  chairman and the Butuan City Mayor. (
(The nearest crematorium is about 200 km away at CDO) a 4 hours drive from Butuan City

     3.  I will draft a MOU that spells out:

         1.  Crematorium, chapel services, columbarium project

         2.  50 - 50% sharing of GP after expenses

         3.  Lease on the land:     say __%   P___________consultancy fee

Re: Conversation today regarding 0 sales, 3.23 Sales Campaign

Our discussion today March 18, 2021:

1.   We need to prepare a price list for annual:   increase by 10% and divide by 5 years.  For annual

2.  This will be the basis of making the  April 4.24 campaign of having 50% discount for the last year amortization for only 5 accounts and 25% for say 20 accounts
     (this will amount to 5% for (25%) and 10% for (50%)  LIMITED ONLY FOR WALK IN AND ON LINE ENROLEES (in order to save on commission expense)
     This is customer based promo

3.  We need to prepare a sticker or a post that tells the prospects who does any of the following shall be entitled (and we urge them to claim the discount gift voucher
      for any or all of these activities (how can they claim -  we DM them directly -   manually, and we register them)

                                   P20.00 for messaging us

                                   P30.00 for office inquiry

                                   P50.00 for tripping.

                                  GOOD FOR 30 DAYS AFTER RECEIPT.

SUBJECT;   0 sales yesterday, and 3.23 Sales Campaign

1.  We did poorly yesterday;   only 1 sale;  unacceptable

2.  We have two waves of sales: campaign

     A.  Annual Sales

      1.   The annual sales, (up by 10% but divided by )  6 years

       2.  Included are the regular plots and special plots

      3.  This will be the basis of less 25% on last amortization

   B.  3.23 sales

      Regular plots + 10%/72   but with one free amortization

    1.  Let us ask RCG to do for Calamba:  the annual sales and the 3.23

    2.  Let us try JT do the above 2.

3.  Ms. MLM shall determine as to whether we are targetting the 2021 sales target or the sales target for the campaign.

Take note that the sales campaign, the 2.22 and 3.23 are just meant to support the over all sales drive for the month.
