Nothing beats honesty:

Background:  There have been many cases where this office has been placed in very hot waters and being branded as dishonest.  SBU officers, would request, even in writing, to do certain things and disown statements later on.  There are investigations conducted on certain event, but would ) not talk, and sometimes would even bear false witness (chizmis) vs superiors.  Now a song runs, you will not get to heaven if you tell a lie.

What:

1. According to Desiderata:  speak your truth quietly

2.  According to our CCD:  "falsely testifying vs co workers is a grave offense.  Class:      offense.

3.  Defamation.  Even if there are bad employees who abused or were dishonest, we can not broadcast their employment record  nor report them to future employers because of ruling on defamation and libel - even if your allegations are true.  Hence, you must be careful in:

     1.  Storing the employment records of past employees. They must be kept secure and records must not be lost or fall into the wrong hands.

     2.  Our internal memo must be carefully worded. If there are harsh words, they should be oral, no one should hear, nor be able to record this. They must not be emailed. because they can be retrieved and used against us as libelous or defamatory.  If you defame using our computers and email address, you alone shall be held responsible
