Subject : Use of social media
Goal:
1. To use the social media to promote sales and revenue;
2. To gain more advocates and apostles for our product
Reality:
1. FB is being abused; many staff are using FB during office hours both to promote our product and their relationships
2. FB and other social media are being used to get even, criticize, provoke anger and jealousy in other people who could be future partners or associate later on.
WTDN advice:
1. Please limit your social media use to being positive, of promoting our products and goodwill;
2 During working hours and while using company computers/FFE, let us use pages and not personal accounts
3. To stop using this to harasss, ridicule, reprimand employees, former employees, officers colleague or for spreading unfounded information, hearsay, chismis, to defame the integrity/character of the individual subject of the post. Such is subject to Anti Cybercrime law, and without the waiver, the company computer is subject to seizure and lawsuits
We do not wish to see anymore employees, all ready subject of disciplinary action being posted at social media. We will not hesitate to use the law to stop further abuses

Yes, it's very true that social media can be of great help in our marketing activities but can also harm us if it is abused. FB nowadays is very famous especially in teenagers but one thing top important is the limitation of doing FB in such time that it will not affect one's studies, work, and personal character.

ReplyDeleteSo we have to be wise enough on how to use FB, Here at HGCMP, we are now putting limitations on using FB even if it is for HGCMP Facebook account, we have scheduled time on when to check FB of HGCMP's comments, messages and likes.

Social Networking sites like FB and MySpace allow us to find and connect with just about anyone from a co-worker, love ones, neighbors etc. Browsing these sites can make you feel connected to a large community, but such easy, casual connection in an electronic environment can also have its downside. First and foremost you can be addicted in this kind of social media. In that case you are not able to work well. Because most of your time you spent it in your FB. Just limit your time in using FB or maybe after working hours. The most important thing is everyday you do your duties here in HGMP. Thats it.

But using social network can also ruining your personal life we need to understand that these sites can be used to some extent but not over the limit.

We are allowed to use social networking sites such as FB, but this is in purpose to promote and market our products online. Using it for personal use, during working hours is not healthy and would affect performing the daily task.
