Million dollar baby lesson - the only voice you will hear is my voice

"Pag gusto, may paraan; pag ayaw, maraming dahilan "

From you tube - Million Dollar Baby

This is all about being a success, or said in this  movie, to be a million dollar baby.

The coach,Clint Eastwood  was wooed for a long long time by Hillary Swank, who would later become the million dollar baby, to coach her in boxing.  To which Clint Eastwood demurrred.

Clint Eastwood agreed after a long time of refusing on certain condition:

l.  He will teach Hillary all the things she need to know on boxing, but:

2.  She will not ask questions and just listen;

3.  In the fight, the only voice she will listen to amidst the din of all competing voices  is the coach voice.

A good deal.  Why is it important?  There will be no learning if you question everything;  the true master (guru) student relationship means:   unconditional, unconditioned loyalty  in order to learn.  If you challenge the knowledge and the authority of the coach, or his decision (as what happenned to Chot Reyes in Sta Lucia when the owner favored the spoiled brats in the team.  Chot became the coach of the winning RP team;  where is Sta Lucia and the spoiled brat player?)

This is our problem in the organization.   Many of our staff, despite efforts to train them:

l.  Do not listen to the superiors/guru

2.  What is worse they listen to the voices and or to people who have no consequence or relevance to their career;

3.  Have negative attitude towards the coach or their guru and in the end, their negativism take them down in their career if not outright failure.

Let this millin dollar baby be a lesson to many of us who who are No. 1, 2 or 3

  1. As i read this article and after listening to the video clip of the million dollar baby, the first thing that comes in my mind is to learn to listen from your boss and don't say anything, when we start say anything and especially negative saying, instead we believe to our boss we will turn him to low his strength and belief.

    Our boss needs our ears to listen and to work hard on what he say's because when we start to believe in him our goal will be met.

    And like what i have read from the word of God, God choose a leader to his church and no one should questioned him or even to the leader he choose. We don't have the rights about it but instead to listen and work for the goodness of ourselves and everybody.

    Thank you for the learning and realization. God bless!

  2. Listening is the key to learning. We listen to only one voice and trust our boss/manager. Never ask questions but keep on and be determined to do what we asked us to do and what we are supposed to do.

    Action speaks louder than words.
