The typhoon brings out the best and worst in people. The best when they help the victims; worse when people see themselves as victims.
Today we saw and experienced several victims:
1. One did not go to office because they may have flood damage;
2. One left her gear and could not go home because of flood (ankle deep)
3. One texted that the local govt advised all govt agencies to go home (as if Holy Gardens was a govt agency) And the information was not even done through channels or proper lines of communication
We need to attend to our assets safety and security. In the past we have involved ourselves heavily in assisting those who suffered from calamities. We are not victims.

BE A SURVIVOR; BE A SALVADOR (SAVIOR) INSTEAD OF BEING A VICTIM;
Be an answer to somebody else's prayer, instead of asking an answer to your prayer
Be a rescuer rather than being a victim;
It is better to give, than to receive alms or relief goods.
I told stories:
1. That in my first job, I reported to work although there was this 40 days deluge in 70's which left our town flooded for 6 months
2. That in the military, plan b is always plan a even if there are natural disasters. NOthing can stop military, especially air force which has the mandate of civilian relief and rescue
3. In high school, our steeled willed principal held classes even if the school grounds was ankle deep in the Pasig river waters (our school was besides Pasig River)

Some quotes from Goodreads (on being victims)
Today is a new day. Don't let your history interfere with your destiny! Let today be the day you stop being a victim of your circumstances and start taking action towards the life you want. You have the power and the time to shape your life. Break free from the poisonous victim mentality and embrace the truth of your greatness. You were not meant for a mundane or mediocre life!”
― Steve Maraboli
Your complaints, your drama, your victim mentality, your whining, your blaming, and all of your excuses have NEVER gotten you even a single step closer to your goals or dreams. Let go of your nonsense. Let go of the delusion that you DESERVE better and go EARN it! Today is a new day!”
― Steve Maraboli, Unapologetically You: Reflections on Life and the Human Experience
“There are two different kinds of people in the world. There are people who instinctively look for every chance to be a “victim” and those who look for every chance to rise above—regardless of where they are in life and what’s happening around them. There are people who realize their ability to create (greatly influence) reality toward a positive direction for themselves and those around them, and unfortunately those who use this power we all have for destructive purposes for themselves and others—many times without even knowing what they’re doing or the power they have inside themselves. We are all powerful individuals. Let’s use that power to create something beautiful!”
― Christopher Hawke

I learned that always believe that your not a victim you are there to help other victim.
ReplyDeleteAlways remember the meaning of The Secrete, that is the law of attraction
it means good vibes attract good vibes, victim attract victim,prosperity attract prosperity.

We are rescuers who help the victims. Let us overcome the struggles and don't let the obstacles be hindrances to accomplish great things. Every day is a new chance of steeping forward toward our goals in life.
