Resomation - Bio Cremation

Hi Cynthia:

I did some research on the subject and found out that:

l.  The leading supplier is Matthews

2.  The price is somewhat stiff:  $200tto $500t per.  And because of this the biocremation cost  between $200 to $500 more expensive

3.  The process is something like this:

There is a stainless tank where the body is placed and then is submerged in a solution of potassium chlorate (a lye)  in a l is to 10 ratio and is heated to 350 degrees temperature for 2 to 3 hours.  This is supposed to use less energy  and is environmental friendly.  The body comes out as only bones ready to be pulverized by a grinder.

4.  In USA certain laws are needed to be passed in states as to whether this will be allowed.  It is not approved in California yet and there are objections.

5.  The main objection is the soup that remains after the processing;  it consist of the lye solution and the protein, cellulose mixture. Since this is basic, this could not be disposed off at the sewer system because it will destroy and clog the sewer system (the mixture is corrosive)

6.  Can we be ahead in this innovation?
