Background:
In an island province SBU it has happened twice that due to administrative mistake of AP and the SBU head, the CV got lost, the supporting documents for the job finished, and even payment for the vault contractor were delayed for ages. Despite frequent reprimand, the incidents were repeated. Lately, we had the bonus of a group delayed of a southern Luzon sbu, by again, administrative mistake, despite efforts by the undersigned to have the check signed.
The Bible says a lot, and we could be spiritual (rather than religious or ritualistic to our faith by paying attention to some of the Bible Quotes:
Leviticus 19:13: "Do not withhold the wages of your hired workers overnight"
Deuteronomy 24:15 " Pay their wages each day before each sunset because they are poor and are counting on it.
It is not only spiritual but makes good for good management and labor relations; this even applies truer when we process commissions.
One of the objectives, if not mission of a business is to fight poverty by providing jobs and employment. And delaying payment of wages or part of their wages is not only illegal but also do not certainly lead to this end.
FYI and for compliance

It is true that wages/salaries must be paid on time because many of our employees are bread winners or head of the family. Proper communication and coordination between SBU and 3ffb must be observed in order to avoid delays on payments of payables, especially on wages of contractors and employees.

ReplyDeleteEmployees/workers expected their salaries/wages at the end of the day or on the 15th/30th of the month. It is very important as employers to pay them on time for the services they have rendered. Early submission of DTR and work accomplishments of staff and contractors to 3ffb should be observed to avoid delays. Communicate well to AP Payables regarding the documents submitted for payments to ensure the smooth flow of processing.
