3 ways to scale your biz!
Hi Jorge!
As an entrepreneur for 25+ years, I've tested nearly every business growth strategy known to humankind. And, what I've determined is that, in 2018, the three BEST options for quickly growing your business are:
Option 1 - Increase your prices.
Sounds simple enough, but it's true. When you charge more for your services, you get to work with the same number of clients and earn more money. It's basic math.
The downside, however, is that there is a limit to what you can charge for your services without having to justify the increase in price with a commensurate increase in the value you provide, or changing your target market entirely. For most businesses, increasing one's pricing eventually hits the proverbial 'ceiling'.
Option 2 - Serve more people.
Of course, you could do this yourself. Take on more clients, serve 'em well and earn more. But, this can get pretty tiring, pretty quickly.
So... what if you simply hired others to serve your clientele? This is definitely an option (albeit with more overhead and, often, stress) and can help you 2x, 3x, and even 10x your business in expedited fashion.
On our new podcast, The Best Business Podcast, we sit down with entrepreneurs who have either exited for more than $10,000,000, or currently run $10,000,000+ annual businesses. One of our recent guests shared his thoughts on this option and I love his advice.
In a nutshell, he said that when they were first looking to scale, they brought on other salespeople who they trained to present their offer. Needless to say, they weren't nearly as good as the founders. As a matter of fact, they were roughly half as good. Whereas the founder might sell $10,000 in products, programs or services from a single presentation, the salesperson would sell $5,000.
But... if they put two salespeople out giving presentations, it was the equivalent of having another one of him on the street. Bring in four salespeople, and now there are two of him, etc.
The best part? These were commission-only salespeople so he had ZERO out-of-pocket expense to hire them.
Fact is, no one is going to know your business quite like you do. However, if you want to scale, having multiple people on the street sell for you who are half as good, means that you can begin to clone yourself, serve more people and grow your impact, revenue and reach.
