    1. 70% of mistakes in the workplace are the direct result of poor communication.
    2. In giving/delivering good communication it must involve the six (6) C’s: clear, concise, correct, complete, courteous and concrete information/idea.
    3. The real communication is the message received not the message intended.
    4. One of the positive principles for cooperative communication is focusing on the solution not on the problem instead of saying “We’re out of paint for interment” say, ” I will purchase one pail at the store” .

Relationship to What I Already Know

Many of the problems occur in our organization are the direct result of people failing to communicate. Lack of communication or non communication persists despite of high tech equipments we have – cell phones, internet. Some problems occur like low productivity, misunderstandings, conflicts, damaged of personal or company image due to poor communication. We must gather good information with the use of our ears – listen actively and understand the message.

Communication is very important. It involves FAR (Focus, Attention and Reverence). So even just a replying to a text message would mean respect to the person who is carrying the message. We can say that communication is effective when the message is clear and well understood by the receiver and if there’s an action taken that leads to good result or achievement of what has planned.

    What to Do Next:

    1. Answer the phone with three (3) rings only, reply all text messages or acknowledge emails/Skype messages.

    2. Understand the message and do what is being ordered.

    3. Always emptying my cup and be an active listener at all times to avoid reworks and rejects.

    4. Verify what is not being understood, don’t hesitate to ask questions.

    Things learned from the slide.

Upon reading the slide, I learned many things and considered this so helpful for me to develop my communication skills.
    1. There’s the Six C of giving good information that we can use – Clear, Concise, Courteous, Complete, Correct, Concrete.
    2. I have learned that studies tell 70 % of mistakes in the workplace are a direct result of poor communication.
    3. Communication difficulties results to bad mood, failure to express alternative, not understanding others need and more often jumping into conclusions.
    4. Being an active listener forces people to listen attentively to others. It avoids misunderstandings, as people have to confirm that they do really understand what another person has said and it tends to open people up, to get them to say more.

Relation to what I already know

Communication plays a big role in our lives, because everything we do is communication.
From a simple nod to a wave of a hand you are already communicating. We cannot express out thoughts and feelings without communicating. But communication is only effective once you understood what is being expressed to you. You should also know how to listen. It’s not only about what you think that matters.
We communicate to gather information and eventually share it to everyone, this will build a mutual trust and able others to show what they feel. More often, problems occur because of lack of communication and leads to more mistakes than expected. Relationship grows stronger because of communication, especially for those who are far from each other.

    What to do next.

Communication is the start of a good relationship towards everyone, especially to our clients; we could use these effective skills to gain their trusts.

    1. In the nature of our work, sometimes we could not avoid sounding pushy to close a sale. We can avoid using “You have to” phrases instead deliver it in a humble way, “could you” or “Would you able to”.
    2. When problems occur, instead of wasting our time blaming each other, focus on solving the problem. And remember to be responsible enough to avoid errors.
    3. Always be attentive to what is being discussed.
    4. If something is not clear enough, do not hesitate to ask questions.

    1. Effective communication comes from our values, beliefs & thoughts.
    2. Poor communication starts within us. In case we fail to deliver the exact information it would result into unproductive operation of the business.
    3. In giving/delivering good communication it must involve the six (6) C’s: clear, concise, correct, complete, courteous and concrete information/idea.
    4. The real communication is the message received not the message intended.

Relationship to What I Already Know

In line with the business communication is really important because the business starts with the communication it self. Sometimes were struggling with our transactions because of poor communication. Lack of wisdom and knowledge starts with poor communication. If we really care for the benefits of the company and not for our own intention we must have a good behavior. Once that we neglect to obey our superior even if it was just a small thing it will create a big consequences. So it will rely on us individuals on how we manage our businesses. Even if we know what communication really means if when it comes to actual operation were down and don’t have a values all are nothing.

    What to Do Next:

    1. Have discipline at all times.

    2. Obey what is being ordered.

    3. Answer the phone immediately for three consecutive rings.

    4. Always emptying my cup and be an active listener at all times.

    5. Don’t hesitate to ask questions in case the information is not clear to us.

Effective communication is the cornerstone of strong, healthy relationships. Relationships begin and develop through communication. And, as you already know, the quality of communication has a direct impact on the quality of the relationship. This is why effective communication is crucial, as we all yearn for close healthy relationships throughout our lives.
Communication is what we do to give and get understanding. It is an exchange of words and meanings, a two-way process of sending and receiving messages. Effective communication happens when the message that is sent is the same message that is received. Problems arise when messages on either end are misunderstood!

    1. Things Learned
I’ve learned from the slide that communication is a two-way process in which the sender and the receiver are involved. It is a way of conversing or discussing certain things to other people. Through communication, we can inspire, motivate and change the lives of others. But miscommunication can also affect one’s relationship, destroy trust and shut down of companies. Communication can only be effective if the receiver acknowledged and understand the message of the sender and be able to apply it.

    2. Relationship to My Job
As a Customer Satisfaction Specialist2, communication is very important to my job. Through this, I may be able to develop harmonious relationship with my co-employees and most importantly, to our customers. Having an effective communication with our clients specially those who are in grief will let them feel our services and lessen the burden within themselves on the farewell of their passed away loved ones. It will be easier for them to acknowledge the death of their beloved.

    3. What to Do Next?
I will apply what I’ve learned from the slide by:
    a. Sending my interment reports before and after the interment
    b. Assist/ Answer clients concern regarding the interment
    c. Explain transparently the package of the interment
    d. Explain fully the advantages of availing our memorial lots and services
    e. Ask questions to the CMO/MH if necessary
    f. Respond to the text messages and skype messages promptly
    g. Respond on customer complaints immediately

    1. Things Learned
I’ve learned that communication plays a very important role in the realization of our goals. A good communication means a better result.
Communication is a two way process. The way message is delivered always affects the way the message is received. Communication is always involved in everything that we do. The success of a certain task depends on how well it is explained, the purpose why it needs to be done and the deep understanding of each person involved. One concrete example within our organization is achieving sales and collection target. The fact is very clear that through high sales and collection we will pay our stakeholders on time and our obligations in the community. But it shows that we lack deep understanding on this, because if we are going to look into our performance it’s very poor. And we couldn’t deny the fact that most of us lack communication in this aspect.
If we are able to practice good communication skills, then surely our SBU or our organization will GROW.

    2. Relationship to My Job/In relation to what I already know

As an ACMO, practicing proper communication is very important. As an ACMO it is my responsibility to mentor my staff. So if my orders are not clear and the tasks we are aiming or the goal we are aiming is not well explained to them eventually the execution is poor. I should always verify if the orders is clear so that they can do the tasks. For example in giving instructions in landscaping and cleaning the park to Ft’s. I should be able to instill in their minds the importance of the appearance of site in marketing and sales and to the clients so that they could do their jobs very well.

    3. What to Do Next?
I will apply what I have learned on communication by:
    1. Submitting required reports on time.
    2. verifying data or reports that are not clear
    3. responding to emails or text or call immediately.
    4. giving always status and feedback, without follow up
    5. in talking with ft’s I should use common words, simplest words that they understand.
    6. follow through reports from staff.
    7. always emptying my cup to adapt new learning
    8. Listen and understand carefully the speaker. Either a client or the staff.
