Purpose Driven SBU Visit (6P)

Constant & close communication. 5 disciplines: mental models, personal mastery, systemic thinking, shared vision, team learning. Are we close?

Recenntly, two experienced employees of a leading SBU were sent to a lesser  performing were sent on a mission to visit an sbu.  From the report and the looks of it, not much was accomplished by the visit after the visit based on the report submitted.

l.  Purpose:     What is the purpose of the visit?
Why was I sent here?  What is the value of my visit/
What is the value (kwenta , vale) of my visit?

2.  Process:      l.  Examine the 4Ms?  Are they existing, are they documented?  Are the records complete;  are they being maintained (for materials and machinery)   For manpower, is there office decorum, are they in uniform, do they wear ID, do they know something, do they communicate/speak well, do they know their job, VMBP, MVP?  If not what must be done?  Methods:  are they efficient, are they effective, are their processes documented; are the existing processes being followed?  What must be done if they are not being followed?

3.  Product:  Is the park presentable;  are work schedules for construction being followed?  For maintenance, for landscaping?  Is the park clean?   Is the park presentable and beautiful?   Are the grasses tall;  Are massing, color, contrast, waving, smiling being followed?  Do they have problems with ABCD and obedience of the GT?  Do they have sufficient number of GT?   Are Garden contractors merely doing the job of Garden Technicians, or are they involved in beautification projects?  Are there sufficient planting materials?  Do they have a watering irrigation system.

4.  Problems:   Do they have plenty of problems?   Are their problems quickly acted upon or do they sit on their problems?  Do the sbu staff have healthy attitude towards problems?  Do they have log of their problems?  Do they enjoy the alibi game?  Are they slow?  Are they fast?  Are they addressing concerns/problems with concrete action and solution? Are there unresolved problems on CCD?  Why

5.  Plans  - Do they plan their work, and work on their plan?  Do they prepare ahead of time or are in the habit of surprise  and playing it by the ear?   Do they follow their plans?  Do they monitor progress of plan keep file of the same and inform peers and top management of the progress/landmarks in their plans?

6.  Professionalism -  Do they act professionally?   Are they engaged in personality development?  Are they more mature?  Do they now know more?  Do they have the right attitude.

Remember the 6ps of SBU visit?

Do they have:   operations plan, marketing plan, financial plan, hr plan?  Who is/are in charge?   Are they in control?  Is the SBU frugal,  are their records in order;  do they have enough cash balance?  Is the SBU ; profitable.

ASR, RFC, BG, please take note as you make your report.

Are they able to stick/ achieve their plans?  Why or why not

The same goes true for SFC visit:   Do they follow the MCs on financial controllership.

THE VISIT SHOULD MAKE THE LOUSY SBU SHAPE UP.  THE VISIT SHOULD RAISE THE LEVEL, THE BAR OF PERFORMANCE OF THE SBU.  Otherwise, the visit, or pasyal was useless and does not have place in our management buzz
