Josiah Go's Definition of Marketing, AATR

Josiah Go, the Philippine guru on marketing, an Agora awardee for marketing education defines marketing as " continously serving customer needs and wants better than competition at a profit."

The key words are:   continuously, satisfying, needs and wants, better than competition, and at a profit

Marketing is a key function of a business.  Peter Drucker defines " business as an entity that creates customers"Without customers, there is no business.  Our organization can not have more staff than there are customers.,

 The role of marketing in a business:

l.  A business  has a Vision.

2.  To achieve the Vision, it needs cash flow.

3.  Cash flow comes from sales

4.  Sales is achieved by having:

       AATR

      l.  Awareness
      2.  Availability
      3.  Trial
       4.  Repeat Sales
